Papal coins found in UK

A Papal bulla (seal) of Pope Innocent IV, found in Shropshire, the 1.5-millionth find by the public across England and Wales. The seal dates from the medieval period, specifically 25 June 1243 – 7 December 1254. It is broadly circular in plan and rectangular in cross section; it is also worn and corroded, with some of this corrosion obscuring the raised detail. The front depicts the faces of St Paul and St Peter with a cross between them. Photograph: British Museum’s Portable Antiquities Scheme/PA
