Usman Khawaja's Aussie family

 

Usman Khawaja married Rachel on April 6 in 2018 after they dated for several years.  Rachel converted to Islam before starting their family.

Usman Khawaja trains for the Boxing Day Test wearing shoes with a black dove.  He wore the logo on his right shoe and also had one on the back of his bat.

The bat logo was accompanied by a reference to article one of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”

He was prevented from wearing the shoes during the first test and was subsequently censured by the ICC for wearing a black armband.
