A father-of-two accused of kidnapping and continuously
raping an 11-year-old schoolgirl for five hours said he fears for his life in jail.
Brett David Hill, 47, an unemployed 'nomad' was revealed as the accused
child rapist after a suppression order was lifted on Wednesday in Newcastle
Local Court.
An earlier application to suppress Hill's name was
granted due to safety concerns, but revoked after police produced DNA evidence.
Sergeant Rebecca Witherspoon said the case
was no longer circumstantial, and the public should be aware of the alleged
perpetrator.
'Publication of his name could lead to more people coming forward who
have been offended against or groomed,' she said.
Sergeant Witherspoon also revealed a 'further complainant' has already
come forward.
Hill, a vagrant recently from Lambton Heights, near Newcastle, New South
Wales, will face court again in August.
The former mine worker has been charged with kidnapping, six counts of
aggravated sexual assault and four counts of aggravated indecent assault.
He is yet to enter a plea.
