Amazon gets approval for 3,000 satellites


The Amazon boss got the all-clear from US officials to blast the satellites into orbit ALAMY Jeff Bezos won permission last night to blast more than 3,000 satellites into space as Amazon competes with Elon Musk and the British government in the race to provide ultra-fast broadband from orbit. In a trend that has dismayed stargazers, companies are vying to fill the night sky with devices that can provide high-speed internet for parts of the world which lack it.
