An ambitious plan to create a
180-kilometre koala conservation reserve along the NSW Mid North Coast could generate
thousands of jobs and add more than $1 billion to the state's economic output
over the next 15 years, a study has found.
The National Parks Association of NSW, which has pushed for the GKNP since 2015, is lobbying for 175,000 hectares of state forest to be converted into national park to establish a reserve that would span from Grafton to Kempsey.
However, Timber NSW has raised concerns about the projected loss of at least 600 forestry jobs……..
