Elon Musk was born in South Africa

Elon Musk was born in Pretoria to a South African father and Canadian mother.  He briefly attended the University of Pretoria before immigrating to Canada at age 18. Two years later, he matriculated at Queen's University at Kingston in Canada.

He came to the US on an F-1 student visa. He decided to stay in the US, started his own company (“Zip2”), obtained an HB-5 visa (immigrant investor visa) in 1997, and promptly applied for US citizenship.

After waiting the mandatory 5 years, Musk became a US citizen in 2002.

We tend to forget about the importance of parents, but they are front and centre of Musk's success.

It's all in the genes. lol
