One Nation's answer to black market cigarette wars

Economists have backed One Nation’s plan to slash the tobacco excise and freeze indexation for three years.

She pledged to cut the tobacco excise by 75 per cent – or an estimated $46 reduction for a pack of 30 cigarettes.

In Sydney, the price for a pack of 20 cigarettes typically ranges from $35 to $55, depending on the brand.

And that's why most smokers buy their black market cigarettes from under the counter at tobacco shops or services stations.
