Mosque to be built at Ground Zero

Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942) is the current Mayor of New York City and the 8th richest person in the United States with personal wealth of US$20 billion in 2008. He is the founder and 88% owner of Bloomberg L.P., a financial news and information services media company. Bloomberg's personal net worth obviously helped him in his political career as well as his philanthropic endeavours like donating over $US $300 million to John Hopkins University where he served as the chairman of the board from 1996 to 2002.

A lifelong Democrat before seeking elective office, Bloomberg switched political parties and ran for mayor as a Republican, winning the election that year and a second term in 2005. In 2008 he successfully campaigned for an amendment to New York City's term limit law so he could run for a third term. He won that election on November 3, 2009.
So as you can see, this man has a lot of credibility and Michael Bloomberg is the head defender of the 9/11 Mosque to be built 2 blocks away from Ground Zero. He expressed his strong support and says he is defending American values of freedom of religion. So in his mind, opponents of the Mosque are opposed to Freedom of Religion.

The main objection to the $100 million Mosque is that it will be a slap in the face to the families of the victims. Another interpretation might be that the Muslim terrorists are being remembered by having a Mosque built in their honour. When I first heard about the proposal, I thought it was a joke, I still can't believe that anyone in their right mind would want to build a church for Muslims on the very site they destroyed.

But Michael Bloomberg is sticking to his guns and with him being the head honcho in charge of building permits, it looks like a done deal. I think that political correctness if killing us all.
