Australia supports investigation into origin of virus

A Chinese minister has suggested that the investigations into the origin of the virus by countries such as the US were an attempt to stigmatize China  MARK SCHIEFELBEIN/REUTERS

Beijing rejected the growing prospect of an international investigation into the origins of coronavirus, claiming that any inquiry would be “ based on the presumption of guilt”. 

The response came after several countries, including the United States, Australia and Germany, demanded further information from Beijing on how the virus started.
