The 10 storey art deco Nell Gwynn House was built in 1937 and named after King Charles II’s mistress with a statue of her and a cavalier King Charles spaniel above the main entrance.
It was described in the 1960s as providing a “pied-a-terre for many Chelsea bachelors who honour the spirit of Charles II”. It sits just off the King’s Road in the heart of Chelsea, home of high-end partying.
A 27.5 sq metre studio on the second floor is on sale for £525,000. Knight Frank
