Al Pacino comes to Sydney

Al Pacino in Sydney this week

Al Pacino landed in Sydney last week for his two one-man shows at the Lyric Theatre on the 17th and 18th November. An Evening with Al Pacino will be an intimate encounter with the real Michael Corleone, as he talks about his acting career, followed by a Question and Answer session from the audience. It's rumoured that his acting finale has to be seen to be believed.

Al once asked Helen Mirren to leave the set after she paid him a visit to watch him work. In 1997 her husband Taylor Hackford was directing Pacino in The Devil's Advocate and he spotted her trying to look inconspicuous behind a group of people and went straight over to her husband who told her she had to leave. Some actors don't like their peers watching them work, and Al seems to be one of them.

The never-married movie legend was born in East Harlem, New York to Rose and Salvatore Pacino who divorced when he was two years old. He and his mother then went to live with her parents in South Bronx, Kate and James Gerardi who originated from Corleone, Sicily.
