The elderly lady was given soup and a food parcel when she was found by the Salvation Army in Govan ALAMY

An elderly woman who was too scared to go out during lockdown was found starving at home in Glasgow after going five days without food. The 94-year-old was suffering from “acute hunger” when she was rescued from her top-floor tenement flat in Govan by the Salvation Army on March 23.
