William Barr resigns

Donald Trump’s Attorney-General William Barr has announced his resignation, saying he will spend the next week “wrapping up”. The President, who has publicly criticised Mr Barr’s performance over the past week, announced the move on Twitter on Monday. “Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney-General Bill Barr at the White House,” Mr Trump tweeted, sharing a copy of Mr Barr’s resignation letter. “Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job. As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family.”
