Papua New Guinea’s $200 million Chinese fishing plant

Daru Mayor Samuel Winggu, the mayor of Daru, an island situated in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea, just a few kilometres from Australia's border, has hailed the Chinese Government’s Belt and Road initiative as a win for local jobs and development. Canberra also has security concerns given Daru's proximity to Australia.
