Giant clam bust

Two Vietnamese fishing boats were caught fishing illegally in Australian waters for giant clams and trepan (sea cucumbers).

The huge clams are worth up to $5,000 each and could be up to 100 years old.  The two boats were part of a fleet of four.  The masters were fined a total of $15,000 and received suspended sentences.
