Koala on the freeway

 

A woman stopped on the South-East freeway in South Australia yesterday to catch a koala trying to cross the freeway. He had already caused a five car pile-up as people tried to avoid him. She had some experience with rescuing koalas so she wrapped him in her coat and put him in her car boot (trunk). However, it got out and so did she. She took this photo as she waited for the animal rescue people to retrieve him. His only problem was he couldn't reach the gear lever and pedals else he would have been on his way. Her upholstery suffered somewhat.
