Indigenous block highway in Brazil

Kayapo Indigenous protesters block highway BR-163 with a banner that reads in Portuguese "Defending the Amazon. Without listening to Indigenous people, there will be no concession nor a grain railway," near Novo Progresso, Para state, Brazil. Brazil has the second-highest number of infections and deaths in the pandemic, after the US. The coronavirus pandemic has hit especially hard among indigenous people in the region, who have a history of vulnerability to outside diseases.
