Attempted 'Honour killing' in Washington

A teenage girl, a student of Timberline High School in Washington, ran away after her parents tried to put her on a plane to Iraq.  She was almost choked to death outside her school in an alleged 'honor killing' by her parents after she refused an arranged marriage.

Ihsan Ali, 44, and his wife Zahraa Subhi Mohsin Ali, 40, were charged with attempted murder and attempted kidnapping after their arrest on October 18.

The attack took place outside Timberline High School where her 16-year-old boyfriend also studied, after her parents tried to put her on a plane to Iraq.
