A child rapist collapsed after just 52 lashes despite being set to be caned 169 times under a strict version of Islamic law. Pictures show a masked member of the religious police carrying out in the punishment in the ultra-conservative province of Aceh in Indonesia. The paedophile, named only as Roni, was convicted of the rape of a minor and had already served six months in prison.
Public canings are now carried out under social distancing measures
