Google has pledged to stop users taking a virtual walk on the internet across the top of Uluru, a sacred Australian indigenous site, after complaints that it was inappropriate. Until last year tourists were allowed to make the steep climb up the 1,141ft monolith themselves although they were discouraged from doing so by local landowners
