Chris Dawson to appeal sentence

Chris Dawson will begin an appeal against his conviction when he faces the NSW Supreme Court on Monday.

The former rugby league player and school teacher was sentenced to 24 years in prison after Supreme Court judge Ian Harrison found him guilty of murdering his wife in order to have a relationship with a young student, known as JC.

Although Lynette Simms' body has never been found, she has never contacted her friends or family, including her two children, and Dawson was convicted on circumstantial evidence.
