Private Richard Norden posthumously awarded Victoria Cross
Private Richard Norden has been posthumously awarded a
Victoria Cross for his bravery during the Vietnam War more than half a century
ago.
The Victoria Cross is Australia's highest military
honour.
It was awarded for Private Norden's actions
during the battle of Fire Support Base Coral in 1968, where he ran into enemy
fire to reach a wounded comrade.
