Queensland man Joel Cauchi has been named as the man who killed five women and one man at the Bondi Junction Shopping Centre during an horrific mass stabbing on Saturday.
The death toll could rise as three people, including a nine-month-old baby, remain critical and are fighting for their lives in hospital. A further six are in a serious but stable condition.
He was diagnosed schizophrenic when he was 17, and his care was transferred to a psychiatrist in the private sector in 2012. He once called the police on his parents for taking away his knives.
