Nobody told us about Deloraine, I think the people who know how beautiful it is are keeping it to themselves. It's one of those little towns you stumble upon on the way to somewhere else.
There's a path under shady willows right along the banks of the Meander River which runs through the centre of town. But we got rather excited when we discovered the Apex Caravan Park where you can park your rig right on the river front. They will take pets and the sites are quite large. Needless to say, there's not one empty spot left today, especially because it's also a long weekend.
We had lunch at the Empire Hotel and I had one of the nicest meals so far in Tasmania.
