Mark Scott, the head of the University of Sydney has
apologised to Jewish students and staff, admitting he "failed them"
in his handling of a pro-Palestinian student encampment.
He told an inquiry into anti-Semitism on campus he declined
an earlier offer from New South Wales Police to use the riot squad to remove
the students.
Vice chancellors from the University of Melbourne, UNSW
Sydney, Monash University and the University of Adelaide also fronted the
inquiry.
