Sydney construction boss George Alex has been arrested after
he failed to show up for his own bail hearing.
Alex and four others were found guilty of conspiracy to defraud the tax
office of more than $10 million over two years. Alex's doctor convinced the judge to allow
for him to receive opioid treatment in hospital, where he had been since August
23.
He walked into the Darlinghurst Court complex around
lunchtime yesterday (Friday) and will be held on remand until his sentencing on
November 21.
